Interesting and unusual models of socks!

When I first looked through this book, I noticed a few sock patterns that I really want to knit! Most knitting patterns based on Japanese patterns are unique and very different from the American/European patterns I often see. Each sock pattern is rated by difficulty and there is a wide variety which I appreciate. I also like the wide range of yarn counts used in it - it's not just fingering! Weight ranges from lace for nice but totally impractical fishnet socks to very chunky house slippers…

Great patterns, bad prose

I have not knitted any of the patterns in this book. I usually read a book first before starting a project. My first impression is that the patterns are very unique but not particularly complicated. However, if you are someone who actually reads the prose in sample books, you may find the prose/story in this book uncomfortable. The author does not seem to have done any real research into Japanese culture (related to knitting or in general). The book is based on her experience with patterns from
