I've bought Ms. Guagliumi's last two books and neither of them is a waste of money. While I don't really like designs, I really love how she teaches you to think outside the box in her knitting projects. This book is not for beginners. Intermediate to advanced knitters will appreciate how to craft your knit fabric in a variety of ways to achieve a better fit, create more casual wear, or experiment with multicolored yarns for interesting design effects. Although the price of the book was more than reasonable, I am not satisfied with the look of the sweaters. With all the money spent on good yarn, it seems like a shame to knit awkward sweaters. I've seen cuff-to-cuff garter sweaters that look nice because of the vertical stripes created by the stitch, but a side knit stitch makes the stitch look weird.
