Kodak Professional Portra Color Film ISO 160 (1808674) – 120 Format Review

Love, love, love Portrait. A bit of that old school less saturated look, crisp and great for converting another way when scanning to a computer. Check my Instagram feed for pictures. I always say when I film and what kind of film I used. "415Sean"

I like 160 better than 400. Sharper image and more consistent color results when developing at home. I recommend this film especially for long exposures, it gives amazingly sharp results as you can see in my attached pictures.

I really like this film. Soft, muted colors. Sharp movie. Ideal for portraits (hence "portrait") and street photography. Who needs Instagram filters when you have that perfect movie?! I shoot in 35mm and medium format. Highly recommend both *****

Portra 160/120, shot at 645, properly exposed and scanned at 2400 dpi with an Epson V600, can produce files with no visible grain. Now that Fuji has ditched all of its 120-color negative films except 400H, you can opt for a lower-speed film: this or Ektar. Ektrar is good too and has an even finer grain, but most of my work involves night exposures and portra is more forgiving - and it's easy enough to add saturation or contrast to a post.

Kodak 120 Professional Porta Color 160 film is a top product. It works well with any subject as it can capture the subtlest variations in color and value. Color tones are rich without being overly saturated (which of course may be desirable for different films in other circumstances) and capture a beautiful, fine-grained, naturalistic quality. this is the best color negative film the resolution is great, not iso 160 but 100 very nice skin tones, if you want to photograph people that's the only choice for other portraits. I sincerely hope that Kodak will continue to make color negative film and not keep raising prices! They force analog pro photographers to become crappy digital photographers who shake like nuts trying to get the right shot.
