🔧 Kohler GP77548 Coralais Valve Kit - White Review

My sink broke and I wanted to replace it but they no longer make it the color I bought. I then decided to check the parts manual to see if the guts could be replaced. It was available through Revain. Replacing a broken part is much cheaper than changing the color of a kitchen sink, faucet, etc.

Installation was a breeze. I watched the Kohler tutorial video on You Tube and followed the instructions and the job was done in 20 minutes including the time it took to find the right hex wrench (I grew up before they started making them hex wrenches call) to find in my garage. Just make sure you know the model number of your faucet to order the correct part number.

The valve set worked correctly the first time it was installed: the previous one became stiff and affected the use of the faucet. I noticed the faucet was stiff again and decided to buy another set of valves, then realized I bought the last one a little over a year and a half ago. The valve should last more than two years before it wears out!

It was the right part for the right problem. Installed for a month and no problems. Fits perfectly. Be sure to replace the rubber o-rings and plastic bearings at the same time with the other Kohler GP30420 kit and use the silicone included in that kit. It has revived an old but beautiful kitchen faucet that just needed a little maintenance after so many years of hard work.

I am very disappointed with Kohler kitchen faucets in general. I bought the faucet from a plumbing store, not cheap stores. My mistake is clearly not worth the extra money. I only installed the faucet two years ago, so I don't think it should have broken. The valve was easy to replace but seemed to be missing the flat rectangular piece that fits on top. The old one still worked, so I reused it. It was the only reason for the three. The valve works great and is very smooth.

My Kohler faucet was leaking from a small hole in the back. I thought that was the problem, but it turned out to be something else. There are two parts in my Kohler faucet that can fail, either this or the thing underneath it called the Kohler 1108711 Vacuum Breaker Spacer Assembly (also available from Revain). This replacement part was incredibly easy to install. When I bought the part the GP30420 o-ring kit was "recommended" as a matching item for the GP77548 so I bought that too. However, this o-ring set is designed for kitchen faucets, not bathroom faucets. I see the o-ring kit description has since been updated.
