Best RAM buy ever!

Probably the most RAM I've ever bought in one computer I've ever had. It took a lot of RAM not only to run multiple apps at the same time, but also to get the most out of each app while I worked, especially since I create and edit audio and video. I installed new RAM in seconds. It worked fine with my existing RAM so I now have a system with 20GB of RAM that doesn't crash and gets the job done. Thanks Computerby. My next RAM purchase will be through you!

Works great on my Mac

I bought two of these on two computers and they work great, the speed is fantastic. Everything loads and works immediately. I'll be buying more of these soon so I can have both 32GB machines.

Cons
  • Good but not great

Reliable memory for old MacPro

is exactly as advertised. I have an old MacPro that I still use for photo and video editing and it needed a bit more power to work with some programs that are more RAM dependent. I haven't had any delays or problems since installing the memory. I've noticed the fans run a bit more to reduce the extra RAM, but all is well. Stable, reliable and many times cheaper than the competition. Thanks very much!

Very good value for money - they just work

These RAM chips arrived quickly and worked seamlessly in the Apple Mac Pro 1.1 and 2.1. The 2.1 had some issues with another brand of RAM not wanting to coexist with these sticks, but other than that they work fine. The heatsinks are great and they seem very similar to the factory fb-dimm ddr2 ram sticks.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Too long to wait

I have a good backup build/test machine

Had the task of upgrading an old MacPro. Between that memory upgrade and the trick of allowing you to run newer versions of OSX that aren't officially supported, I have a nice machine to back up/test on. Edit: BTW, this memory won't make anyone's computers work. "hot". Apple requires that the DIMM chip that provides SPD data also has a temperature sensor. If this is not intended and the SMBus controller cannot read the temperature of the DIMM, it runs the fans at high speed as a precaution.

Bought for 2007 Mac Pro 1 1

Do not buy for Mac Pro 1.1. I bought this RAM, Komputerbay 16GB (4x 4GB) DDR2 PC2-5300F 667MHz CL5 ECC Fully Buffered FB-DIMM (240 PIN) 16GB Heat Spreaders for Apple Computers based on some seemingly good reviews from other Mac Pros -First generation owners. Everything was fine for the first 2 weeks. Then I noticed that every time I rebooted my MP would shut down almost completely and then the drive would behave like it was trying to access the drive every 15 seconds and never rebooted. I had…

Zero Stars Best in Computers & Accessories

This RAM is terrible. I ordered a 16GB package (4x 4GB) for my Mac Pro. The first set had a bad RAM stick that prevented my computer from restarting. I returned the package and received a new 16GB package but this time 3 of the 4 RAM sticks were defective and the fans were running at very high speed like a plane taking off. I removed the faulty RAM and the computer works fine again. Stay away from Computerby. Just check their reviews online
