Kwikset 1826 18 6 Way Adjustable Polished Review

I wanted to replace my front door latch. The seller did not specify that it is a part for an interior door. Only after receiving the part did I see that it was for interior doors. Now I have to order the right part. Delivery was at least the next day.

I don't know many reviews but this latch fixed my garage door lock. The fit was perfect. The door now closes tightly with a secure click and opens freely. The only problem I had was installing 2 plates on the latch. kinda clumsy. Definitely very satisfied and economical. You can buy another one to have on hand.

This kwikset replacement is a cost effective solution rather than replacing the entire lock. Installation is easy, I replaced all the hardware that came with it. The door lock works again.

Bought for my broken latch on my metal exterior door. At first I was upset about the broken door handle/latch. Anywhere up to $100 for a decent quality pen replacement. Then I thought, why don't you just buy me a "bar". And yes you can! I already threw away the broken latch so I couldn't find the model/specs. The pen was Kwikset so I took a chance. And it worked, it was easy to install. What great value.

The product is adjustable in many ways, but the internal spindle passage cutout is too big for vintage spindles, they can't grasp the groove to slightly to turn. So they just turn without being able to open the door at all. It's very disappointing that it doesn't have an internal square hole to hold the spindle, as it's one of the few latches available that's narrow enough to fit the adapter's socket set. .Save money and buy a modern ballpoint pen that looks nothing but antique.
