Great replacement item for our Dyson. The filter was bent and scared because it was new to me and I didn't realize it was just a filter. I was sooooo happy to find and replace them.

Cleaned the filters regularly but didn't realize they clog at the top over time. When I took mine apart I was able to clean it but the top edge broke off. It still worked but when I saw them I was glad to have a spare for the future. They are the perfect replacement. I still don't understand what this little tool is for!

Although the Dyson manual recommends washing the filter every month, over time they wear out and need to be replaced. I had one that the filter smell just wouldn't go away on, so this was the obvious replacement. You'll also notice a tenfold increase in suction power. So by no means be conservative, or if you find you have to work hard at full power for good suction, don't wait and replace it.

It is important to change these filters frequently on this model, otherwise the machine will not always function properly.
