I think these types of bottle openers are the easiest for me to use and I'm trying to replace an old model that has become sticky (it's not plastic). It's a lot thinner so I don't think it will last long.

In my opinion, the old ScrewPull corkscrews were the best of the bunch. the teflon-coated metal corkscrew was the thinnest and slipped into the cork. But "Creuset" has thinner plastic that can break (see photo) and they also lowered the price and no longer ship the stand.

I have an old version of this corkscrew that works fine. I bought a new one, crap. 1) Made in China 2) flimsy flimsy plastic 3) no stand as pictured. Le Creuset makes good products. This is not good. It's a shame that Le Creuset is moving production to China and thus producing inferior items. Avoid trouble. Do not buy. I returned the one I ordered. There are much better corkscrews out there.

As the owner of the original Screwpull wine opener, I was thrilled that Le Creusant was promoting this product. The original was great and lasted for years. I have always admired the Le Creusant product line and the quality of the products and assumed it would be the same high quality product. I am so disappointed.
