Be Careful - Accessories

Buy the best product. Too much risk with this mount. I lost my bike because it slipped off the handlebars. Be sure to tie at the back of the rack to solve the problem when you buy it.

Not bad but could be better UPDATE: AVOID!

Rubber bands do not last long, pins are flimsy and cheap, unfortunately there is no way to fix the pins. Tapes and stands didn't last more than 5 months. I contacted the seller and got a response like "The return period has expired." I threw the stand away. I will take Thule

  • Reliable construction
Cons
  • Speed of operation

quality product so far.

Excellent shelf. Doesn't make much noise even when the bike is parked. Easy trunk access. I'm not worried about the bikes falling over. My girls bike is a little harder to put on because of the handlebars, but I think that's more of a girls bike design issue than this product. My husband developed the system and there are fewer swear words than when we first got it.

Buy Thule. Here's what I ended up doing.

Elastic tethers didn't hold the bike in place well. I had to use ratchet straps to keep from losing the bikes. I had to return the rack but when my bike came out of the hold I scratched the paint off the rack. I didn't see fit to return a damaged item even though it was damaged due to its own cheapness. It was easy to collect. Just plan on buying good ratchet straps if you plan to use one.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some flaws

DO NOT BUY! Bike mounts and straps break on the first ride.

The overall design of the rack is good, but the plastic bike holders are terrible! Almost lost my bike. A fellow motorist on the New Jersey Turnpike pulled over to tell us the bike was hanging by a thread! See photo! All my plastic holders break in one place and one of my rubber bands broke on the very first ride! Unfortunately I threw away the box, otherwise I would have sent it back. DO NOT BUY! When tightening the cradle with the hex screw, the screw is pulled through the plastic cradle to…

Happen! Doesn't cost any money.

I was very disappointed with this bike rack. Firstly the stand arrived clearly used as 2 out of 4 brackets were broken. I contacted support and they "quickly" sent 3 replacements in 7 weeks :( They were easy to replace but one bracket broke after 2 uses so I replaced them. This first time I carried 2 bikes together, both are fasteners Broken closest to the hitch I contacted CS again with no response so I sold the rack as it's on sale for 5000. Now I'm looking for a real bike hitch and am asking

Poor design for accessories

has an intermediate sleeve for "locking" the trunk in the tow bar receptacle, NO. The inner sleeve does not stay in place so when trying to align the holes to insert the stylus the inner sleeve came out of the rack and it seemed like all the holes lined up properly and the stylus went in. pulled on him and he didn't move. 30 miles on the freeway and the whole bike rack and new e-bike was gone. Only the "internal" "safety" locking sleeve and pin remained. NO BIKE NO BIKE RACK. All have been…

Wouldn't buy again

After removing and installing the towbar for my car I quickly found that it was very wobbly. He holds the bike to ride but it wobbles back and forth which makes me nervous all the time. Then I have to get into my trunk (the reason I bought it because it's collapsible) so I have to try to get the pin out. Well you can't because the holes don't line up perfectly. So, to take the pin out and put it back in, you need a hammer and a small screwdriver. (Had to make sure we packed this) Wouldn't buy…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Can be exchanged
