Disappointing Keyless Ignition Switch

I purchased this switch for my automotive project but was left disappointed with its performance. While the installation was easy, the switch itself was unreliable and would often fail to start the engine. The only positive aspect was the design, which looked sleek and modern. Unfortunately, the cons outweighed any potential benefits of this switch.

Good for 2021 CX5 for push button switch

I don't use outer ring; but just gently place the pad over the button. I had one on my 2019 CX5 with no problems and recently added it to my 2021 CX5. So far, so good.

No! Do not buy! It is possible that you will damage the bearing knob.

The tolerances on the existing button are so tight that this button, albeit a bit off center, and I mean so small, you can't even tell with the naked eye that the button is stuck. Then you will have the nightmare of using a very thin and sharp knife to remove it without damaging the existing button. This is because duct tape is an extremely strong adhesive. Therefore, it is not worth the possible troubles that this element can cause. Also, the ring around the button sticks to the original ring…
