They are made of very poor metal which bends very easily before they are installed and once installed you will use them daily.

These spring handles have been misused. I attached them to the bottom of the writing board to attach the board to the walk handles. Two of these clamps were strong enough to provide a stable surface for writing and other purposes for a person seated in a walker. I am very happy with my goal.

These are decent spring clips. like the ones that stood in the toilets at school as a child in the 1960s. Although they open 1 1/2 inches, I wouldn't recommend using them on items that big if you expect them to last. I use them to attach 1" tent poles to my van. And while the Crawford-Lehigh chart says they hold 5 pounds each, I don't think I put that much weight on them. I had a hard time finding these babies online at a price I was willing to pay. .
