Description of Lenox Tools 1972923 METALMAX Diamond

Delivers 1,000 or more cuts without changing the wheel. Advanced diamond technology provides 30X longer life than thin bonded cutoff wheels in metal cutting applications* *Average performance in 1” carbon steel square tube vs. thin bonded abrasive cutoff wheels. Solid steel wheel body greatly reduces risk of breakage for added safety, increased productivity, reduced downtime, and a lower cost per cut compared to thin bonded cutoff wheels. Maintains original wheel diameter throughout the life of the blade for better control, reach, and precision. Does not wear down like bonded abrasives reducing dust particles for a cleaner work station.

Much better cut-off saw

I have a small cut-off saw and it comes with a poor quality grinding wheel. This disc, due to its low quality, kept changing size, which bothered me at work as I had to readjust the depth of cut each time. This new wheel seems to be much better quality and thinner which means I lose less material with each cut. Haven't cut much with it yet, but so far it seems like a very good saw for the money.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

No more changing wheels!

I don't use my grinder every day, but when I do I always look for the blade that has even more life. Or at least enough to cut what I need before throwing it away. Sometimes they even swap wheels to cut something completely or have enough wheels to get through a corner. Given the lifespan of this one, I won't be replacing it with a new one anytime soon, and I certainly won't because it's too small to trim my next project! I wish I had thought of trying this sooner.

Pros
  • Abrasives and Finishes
Cons
  • There are some nuances

I bought this for my 6 inch metal port freight cut-off saw. Arbor washer (round piece of brass in the middle of the blade.) I ended up welding it back on. I also used an extra washer between the nut and the blade to make sure everything was tightened evenly. I've made a few cuts with it and it's been successful, but it's noisier than traditional blades and not as smooth when cutting and there's a lot more vibration. The product will definitely pay for itself over time if it holds up as it…

Pros
  • Abrasive Wheels and Disks
Cons
  • Frequency
