Not as fast but more reliable than Speed Chuck

Speed Chuck no longer exists; too high bounce rate. The ABS-1 Pro is slightly slower when installing/removing the valve stem and cannot be used to deflate a tire. BUT, it's easy to use, reliable, and provides a good seal with several brands of threaded Presta hoses I've used (Kenda, Continental, REI Coop). ABS-1 Pro was easy to install. This is the quality I've come to expect from Lezyne.

  • Low maintainability

Upgrade from ABS-2 to CO2 pumps

After a few years I had problems with the original ABS-2 cartridge that fitted my Lezyne floor pump. This cartridge appears to seal better on various tubeless valve stems that are far from a uniform diameter, particularly those supplied by manufacturers in the Far East. As with any threaded cartridge, care must be taken not to twist the valve core. All in all a good cartridge on the regular Lezyne Premium. Like many other Lezyne products, they have a set of o-rings that will loosen over time…

Great replacement cartridge

This cartridge has a very tight connection to the valve stem. Installation does not take much longer than with a conventional chuck. The mechanical workmanship is of high quality and makes it easy to put on and take off. Be sure to use the deflation valve after inflation, otherwise it may become difficult and damage the cartridge. I installed this cartridge on a special pump. The Lezyne seems to require a smaller diameter hose than usual. From what I have in store 9mm seems to be the standard…

Lezyne ABS-1 Pro HP Pump Cartridge Head: Red is a major upgrade over the standard Lezyne ABS Standard: Gold Toggle cartridge. Reliable connection with the rod, stable attachment between the chambers, practical angle format. And best of all, the ABS-1 Pro HP: red and doesn't have the very annoying tire deflation button on the side (it's hard not to deflate when trying to inflate) that you find on a standard ABS: gold flip -over lining. Replaced by Lezyne ABS Standard Flip Chuck: Gold. with the…

Just right - Sport

I've had a Lezyne steel floor pump for a number of years and it's a workhorse. I've had many floor pumps over the years and was looking for something as durable and reliable as my old Silca which gave up after decrypting + use and abuse. Sure it's not a "quick change" cartridge, but every pump I've had with one of those cartridges wears out. An upgrade with an angled chuck versus the straight chuck that came with the pump is very nice to have. It is easier to put on, turns for a few seconds and

I really like Lezyne but they keep failing

A few years ago I got a Lezyne floor pump with an ABS2 HP cartridge - it failed amazing despite the years but I did thought maybe I just don't I don't know how to use it. After reading the reviews it turned out that this is not the case. It was a poorly designed cartridge. Decided to try the ABS-1 HP to try and revive my now defunct floor pump. The concept seemed pretty simple, but on its "first ride" when I unscrewed it from my Presta valve, it also took the valve core with it. Complete and…

A bit awkward to use

The head that came with my pump connects quickly to presta valves but requires threads on shrader valves and those threads were a bit fiddly at times so I gave this one a try. All in all it was a disappointment and I went back to the original head. It's definitely easier to screw this head onto the Shrader valves and switching the head between Presta and Shrader is the easiest I've ever seen but the fact that I now have the pump on the Presta valves has also made the pump a little less…

Works well but can accidentally pull the strands out of some tubes.

I really like the Lezyne screw head design. Every lock/friction head I've had has worn out over time and no longer seal well (including the discontinued Lezyne ABS-2) and in general I find lock/friction levers a little frustrating to use. I prefer the more secure connection that the screw-on pump head offers, and I think the ABS-1 o-ring won't be too difficult to replace if it ever wears out. This head is great but not perfect. There seems to be slight differences between Presta valve core…

Wanted to like Lezyne but they suck

I've had a cheap Park Tools pump for 12 years. It was fine for me, but over time the plastic that connects the hose to the body became brittle and failed. Since it was a cheap pump there was no one to fix it and I had to throw it in a landfill. I wanted something good as a replacement, so I splurged at my local bike shop for what was supposed to be the perfect modular shop pump that will last me a lifetime. I had to replace the pump head as soon as I got it. probably a year. The cynic in me…
