💡 Enhanced LG 6912A40002J Halogen Lamp Review

The lightbulb in our microwave finally burned out. I tried to buy from a local parts store near me. There are no dice. Went online, got it in 2 days, works great.

Works. This is a very special lightbulb that fits my LG microwave oven. It fits and works. I can't ask for more than LG to make a microwave that doesn't require such a special lightbulb :-) But that's not the lightbulb manufacturer's fault. I installed it wearing latex gloves to keep oil out. from my hands to the lightbulb.

Bought this as a spare and it works in the sense that it puts out the light but gets very hot. Every surface of the microwave oven, from the inside to the outer shell, is extremely hot within a 6 inch radius of the light bulb. So hot I burned my wrist reaching for the microwave to put food in it. Our microwave is above the stove, and when my wrist touched the floor while I was putting something in, I suffered severe burns. It was a red line for a few days that turned into a brownish dry crust…

I wish it was a positive review because the shipping was fast and the brightness of the lightbulb was perfect. Unfortunately it was ordered in November and burned down today. Luckily it was within the return period and my money was refunded immediately. Working with the supplier was very easy, I wish the quality of the bulb was that good.

Update: Bulb burned out after 9 months. I'll try some LED options that look like they might work as I won't be buying these again. First Review: This was a replacement light bulb on the underside of an LG microwave oven. Fits and works as it should. Let's see how long this lasts. I wish there was an LED bulb option so I don't have to fiddle with it again.
