Totally dissatisfied with this purchase.

I don't know if this filter is LG. Their website has the same price but it was difficult to order from their website so I ordered from Amazon. Which can be risky as they seem to allow counterfeit products. I am concerned about this filter because my water is very cloudy now. It was better with the old filter. I see the floating muddy debris finally rising to the top like foam, but it's white. Not happy at all as it was $49.99. I think I'll take the Universal, let's see if it gets any better. It

To update . The filter works fine.

Our regular faucet has fairly clear water at about 400 parts per million (barely potable). I find our water tastes pure in Wakesha County, Wisconsin. With a fridge filter I get 350ppm which is not a big deal. I don't think our original filter worked much better, but if anyone can report a filter that is better than 350 (ideally closer to 100) then I'd be happy to post it here. In a previous review I wrote that my original filter was only 10-15ppm but I was wrong. 10-15 ppm for bottled water.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Expensive

I almost bought a fake brand

I almost bought a fake instead, mainly because it's a bit more expensive and the other one comes in a 3-pack. However, I spent a lot of time reading reviews because I don't know much about this type of filter and it seemed to me that the other does not protect everything. I'm a bit skeptical about the price, but since it protects from more than others, I feel like it was worth it. However, the best thing about this filter is how insanely easy it is to install. Here I thought it was going to be…

as obvious as when Jiffy Lube tells you to change your oil.

More expensive than regular brands, but judging by other reviews (black water after installation) I went with the original product. Works great, neat and clean on the go. I recently repaired my ice maker and the technician told me that there is no need to change the filter when the light is on. It's just an arbitrary timer and usually happens earlier than it's really necessary (obviously to sell more filters - like when Jiffy Lube tells you to change your oil every 3000 miles when it's totally…

Product performance

upgrade. April 29-2021. Bought March 15th, no way in just 45 days we drank 200 gallons of water in a two person home. Currently the filter produces practically no water. After about 45 days and in the scenario that each of us drank 5 liters of water a day, we still don't reach 200 gallons in 45 days. The product does not live up to expectations and promises. 👎👎👎👎 After almost two months of use (purchased September 27th, received and installed October 5th), the water level discharged from…
