This bag folds up and packs into a small package. It adequately protected my backpack during a downpour and was easy to put on and take off.

Spent 11 days in Philmont where it rained every day. No leaks. The lid is big enough to cover my 85L bag, but nothing gets tied on the outside. I wish there was more of an elastic "spring" on the cord, and it's difficult to tighten the cord as it kind of gets stuck in the sleeve it runs through. Good material, ripstop coated nylon. I don't think it's real silnylon.

I bought a rain cover for a special Texsport Wolcott outer frame kit. When folded, it is light and small. The cool thing about this raincoat is that it has enough room to cover a sleeping bag strapped to the top of the shelf. Your backpack will look a bit huge after installation, so don't worry.
