Works best for a while at RV Parts & Accessories

was damaged to order, works well for a few years and then becomes brittle and breaks. 3 of them died in 5 years. I think people on wheels have bad design to use this. Need a better mousetrap.

Pros
  • New

Easy replacement: furniture parts and hardware

Replacing the identical defective wheel guard on my 2012 fifth wheel was easy. It was just a matter of separating the ends, pulling out the old one, plugging in the new one, and reconnecting the ends. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the original identical part failed.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Out of fashion

a few things first i had to go back.

a few items, first i had to return the item sent because although the packaging said it was a 3 the product was a one off item. Second, they only last a few years depending on how often you take the slides in and out. They always seem to break at the point associated with the clasp.

Pros
  • good item
Cons
  • so far so good

Design flaws - but works for what it is

Works very well - easy install, with only one issue - RV cords on the retractable outlets held by these guide systems work fine - but need the Cut cables, insert them into this bracket system, then clip them back together to install properly

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Low power

Easy to assemble - good value for money

Purchased to repair the main rail on a 2007 Montana fifth wheel. The product is durable and the mounting hardware is OEM compliant. It is highly recommended that you take it out and stretch it out in the sun. before installation, of course rolled up to fit in the shipping carton. The sun's heat lasted for a while so plan ahead. 10 out of 10 points. The seller and the carrier delivered on time and without damage. All well done!

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction
Cons
  • Negative impression

Easy assembly with simple modification

Others have found how difficult it would be to remove wires or tubing to insert into holes. I thought the same thing at first, but after careful investigation I found that if the mounting hole/brackets slide over the strap I can just pull the strap through and attach the old brackets that already had tubes/wires inserted. BUT.……… . The new band is .015 longer than the one I replaced. So using a random orbit sander and 100 grit sandpaper I sanded the edges to mount the old 3 hole brackets with…

Direct replacement for a broken part

This is a direct replacement for a broken part on our fifth Montana wheel. It's too long for us so I had to cut it to length. Also, it was rolled so tight for shipping that I had to soak it in hot water as much as possible. There are two sets of holes, neither of which fit our RV. Also, the inner set of holes showed rolling damage where the original failed. I made a piece of aluminum strip, mounting screws and washers for reinforcement, using the pre-drilled holes in the flex as a template for…

OEM PRODUCT, NO "AFTER SALES " PRODUCT! Be careful if you don't do a camper!

I called Lippert and asked how to put the wires and wires in the holes and they said not to cut the holders. They said to disconnect the wires and hydraulic lines, thread the holes and reconnect! Telling a beginner to disconnect or cut the cables going uphill and pinch off a hose filled with pressurized hydraulic fluid is just plain stupid! This is clearly NOT an aftermarket product, if that's true. In my opinion, any Flex Guard will fail (just like plastic has to flex all the time). Until…
