The $67 Lisle Flaring Tool 33260 is overpriced. I bought it primarily because I wanted to be able to fix 3/16 and 1/4 hard brake lines in hard to reach places ie brake lines that are still installed and this flare tool was unlike any other scrap chrome. Overall, with acceptable editing, it's very durable. So far I've only experimented with this on the bench and made a couple of 3/16 flares that look good and I don't think they will be phased out. The thing just works. If you read and follow the instructions, your flashes will come out every time. They provide a tool case and a countersink to clean the inside edge of the line and add value. I think it would be better if this tool could be attached to a drill press, but it still works. If the manufacturer wants to improve the design of the tool I would suggest making all screw heads the same size so you don't need multiple wrenches to tighten/loosen, but perhaps this is for identification

First attempt to use this torch type. I usually use my Mastercool hydraulic brake line flare tool, but I gifted it to a friend about 6 months ago. I decided it would be quicker to just use Prime and get another brake line tool rather than waiting for mine to be returned. I took the risk of purchasing this product when there were only 6 reviews (mainly because of the brand name) also because other compact 3/16 flaring tools are all but non-existent. 3/16 is the size you need for most brake lines on a Chevy truck. The car's other line is 1/4 inch and is also used in most modern cars. In my experience, this tool has worked very well. Sometimes a man needs to get so excited he's looking for something better. It will take me a lot of time and a lot of patience to get there. Patience is essential when it comes to brake line flares, but unless a man has the right tools to get the job done properly, patience can quickly wear out, especially when the job has to be done in tight spaces.
