Doesn't live up to expectations

This pump was a big disappointment. Through trial and error, I found that it just wasn't powerful enough to meet my needs. While it does have a sturdy construction, it's not worth the price I paid. I expected more from Tools and Home Improvement.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction.
Cons
  • Not powerful enough.

High efficiency pump

Great drain pump, powerful and quiet. I ordered this particular pump because it is more efficient than the one I am using, ie it pumps more water using less power. I measured 6 amps with the pump running, the pump he replaced was less powerful but was drawing 8 amps. Full specifications can be found on the Red Lion website. Efficiency is important to me because I have a pump backed by a high quality sine wave inverter and I want the batteries to last as long as possible during a power outage…

Pros
  • Sturdy cast iron construction for fast heat dissipation and longer service life
Cons
  • Negative impression

Cheaper, better and much more reliable than home depot junk!

I had a new pump from HD (Everlast brand but should be called Neverlast) with an extra long warranty that broke down in less than a year and HD wouldn't help me. The clueless guy from the plumbing department said the only way to fix/replace/refund was to call the number listed in the owner's manual. The HD store manager was helpful as was the mulch bag. So I had to call the Neverlast guys on the number given in the manual. Well, they never answer and they never, EVER call back. So I reminded…

Pros
  • In: 8" - 11", Out: 2" - 5", 3 year warranty. Not for pond use
Cons
  • Requires outlet
