Complete OTHERS! for caps

Just removed this item from my car, wedged the latch mechanism and grabbed a hammer and screwdriver. waste of money! NO STARS!

Pros

Cons
  • Some small things

Does not open even when the key is turned

Apparently that's common with these locking gas caps. Mine broke after half a dozen uses of the lock? When turning the key, the lock did not turn off. I had to physically remove the cover with a wrench. Luckily I had it. I ran out of gas trying to fill up when the gas cap broke.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Stranded me.: gas cap

This fastening gas cap was stuck and would not open. Left me on the side of the road because I couldn't get gas. I was on my way home to get my tools when I realized I couldn't get gas. I had to completely destroy the gas cap to get it off. I do not recommend this product at all. I had it for about 2 months before it broke.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • disappears

Lock wobbles due to caps

The keyway has a cap that needs to slide (most keyway caps retract when you push the key into the lock body). It's a little tricky to use the key to pry off the cover, especially when installing in a car in the dark. In addition, the key cannot be removed in the unlocked position. So if you have a large fob full of keys, expect to leave the key in the cap and turn the whole fob around, which will scratch your car's paintwork.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Some issues

Broken on the gas cap in 2 months

From day one the locking mechanism seemed cheap and flimsy but thought it would do the trick. In less than 2 months it completely failed and my girlfriend was stuck at a gas station and couldn't get it off. I finally got there and ripped off the outside with a screwdriver with the grille still stuck in the hole, good enough to get enough gas to get home. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the rest out of the tank...the moral is this is junk, buy something/something else!

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
