Easy to use, ugly to wear

I have a hard time wearing necklaces so I thought these clasps would be a good idea. And they were - now it's much easier to put my necklace on and off. Unfortunately, as you can see in the photo, the claw and hook started to fade after about two weeks. I contacted the company and they never replied. If you're looking to buy this I recommend looking elsewhere for a seller.

Easy to use and very secure.

Small magnetic clasps are attractive, secure and easy to attach to jewelry. I bought gold tone and silver. Best of all I can now put my own necklaces on and off. If you place two magnets close together, they will stick properly on their own. Before that I had to ask my husband for help and some of the clasps were too small for his big hands to open. I give them to my friends.

Pros
  • Suitable for many
Cons
  • There are some disadvantages

I am very impressed with the strength of these magnets. I bought these for an anklet and it feels very secure. They add about 1-1/8" so probably won't work well for bracelets. But perfect for a necklace. I put them next to my 14k and 18k yellow gold jewelry and the plating matches very well. Can't do anything cannot comment on their wear or tarnishing as they are brand new but they appear to be of good quality.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Available for sale

The best magnetic clasp I've ever used

I have a lot of necklaces and I've found that I rarely wear them because I hate playing with clasps in the mornings when I'm in a hurry to get out the door. Magnetic clasps make my life MUCH easier. I've bought several varieties and these are my favorites. The magnets are heavy and some of the clasps snap onto the front of the necklace quickly. Something in their design (flatness?) keeps the clasp in place at the back of the head. They're expensive compared to other magnetic clasps so I useโ€ฆ

Ingenious magnetic closure design!

The best magnetic clasps for jewelry! Each side of the clasp is a small flat plate with a magnet. The two plates sit next to each other and not on top of each other as with other magnetic clasps. The fact that there is a very strong magnet and then a non-slip comb when pulled makes for a really strong connection until you separate the magnets. If you want a magnetic clasp that opens when you pull it off, then this isn't for you. If you're looking for a magnetic clasp that works even if youโ€ฆ

These magnetic jewelry clasps are wonderful!

This is the second set of silver magnetic jewelry clasps I have received. I believe the other set was bought from a catalogue. I have osteoarthritis in my hands and fingers and these clasps make my life easier when wearing necklaces. I'm stumped without it, and after a few attempts to undo regular clasps (even lobster clasps) my fingers are swollen and so sore that I just have to give up. I have several necklaces that I really like because I have a magnetic clasp on the chain. Whoever inventedโ€ฆ

Great clasps, but they don't "lock "

However, they fit together in a way that they hold together well unless you pull (twist) at an angle, and won't fall apart. They are nice and small for small chains (lighter weight) and also look very nice. I'm happy with that, but suggest an alternative to expensive jewelry - Beadnova Popular Silver/Gold Plated Magic Magnetic Clever Clasp Built-in magnetic safety lobster clasp - also available from Revain. They have a swivel mechanism after attaching the magnet to provide extra security. I'mโ€ฆ

like every chain breaks when it does

that's all i need now. I was concerned that the lack of a thread to attach it might make my jewelry less secure, but the way it's designed it pivots onto the opposite magnet and really stays in place. tries to rip it off your arm or neck just like any necklace if that happens. In fact, this design is much better than other cylinder locks as it is also lightweight and won't weigh down or slip your decoration. I order a new batch. Any piece of jewelry that I now rarely wear because I haven't hadโ€ฆ

Holds tighter than other magnetic clasps

I've been making necklaces for gifts for a few months now. I found several ladies had issues with the old fashioned lobster clasp. I decided to invest in some magnetic clasps. I tried three or four other styles because they were about half the price, but I noticed when I tested them that it was easy to disable the magnets by slipping on or off a coat or sweater. Having put a lot of time and words into my handmade necklaces, I didn't want them to fall off and get lost. I decided to try theseโ€ฆ

The best I've found in magnetic clasps.

Update: Nov 2018 After nearly losing an expensive pendant to one of these clasps I have upgraded my rating of these clasps to 5 stars. These are the only clasps I will be using for now. I trust them completely. They're pressed together so tightly that sometimes I have to fiddle with them to separate them. I am okay! (Original review) I have four different types of magnetic clasps and this is the best I have found so far. I only use them for necklaces, not for bracelets. Here's what I like andโ€ฆ
