Actually I'm the one who deserves 1 star because I did NOT read the article (thekitchn) enough and then didn't read the ingredients in it. It's canola oil in a can. I usually use canola oil...a drop and then wipe the pan with it. I am so humbled that I bought this.

I bought this without looking at the ingredients. This product is unsuccessful for two reasons. 1.) it's just canola oil in a spray bottle and 2.) it's constantly dripping from the spray valve. I keep it in my sink so the oil doesn't splatter all over my counter or pantry. Save money and just go to your local grocery store and find canola oil in an aerosol can. I'm sure it's cheaper.

I'll admit it's more of a novelty but I like having a special cleaning/seasoning kit for my Lodge cookware. I even bought a set for my partner, he also has Lodge dishes. The pen case is great. It does not transfer heat and is easy to clean. The spray forms a fine mist that slightly covers the dishes. The brush feels good in the hand and does what it is supposed to.

I have a couple of cast iron skillets and have seasoned them with PAM High Temperature Grill Spray in the past. My wife hated when I baked empty pans because the PAM smoke point was well south of the 360 degree temperature I use, so the whole house stinks.
