My LG fridge wasn't producing water or ice so I decided to replace the micro switch. The switch was an exact replacement for the original part and fixed the problem. The only problem was that there were 2 switches in the box. The first lasted at least 4 years, the second I will probably lose until it needs to be replaced again. I wish I had paid less for just one but that was the only way they came.

Exact replacement part (ice dispenser switch) for my LG fridge. This seems to be a common failure mode due to switch corrosion (lots of moisture in that area) - and this is the second time I've replaced a switch on my fridge - but there are a few other reasons an ice dispenser might come loose , so your results may vary here. It was the right part for my fridge. From a youtube video I found if squeezing your hand to dispense ice cream doesn't turn on the light and nothing comes out, this is the part you need. If the indicator lights up but the ice doesn't come out, it doesn't need to be replaced.
