Defective device but good seller experience.

I was very excited to use and finally test the device, but unfortunately the device I received would not turn on. Tried two different batteries, nothing. However, the seller was straightforward and refunded the money.

Disappointed with the marine electronics

When I ordered this unit it was listed as "with charting, charts preloaded "Lowrance Hook Reveal 7 Fish Finder 7" screen with transducer and C-MAP chart options preloaded (new)" described received the device, it was clearly "no assignment". How does this happen?

Don't buy good for sonars and fish finders

If you are thinking of buying a GPS fish finder do not buy this side image and the below image are great but GPS just sucks all it gives you shows an arrow on a blank screen and a line I don't know why a company would want to sell something you can't bet on

Do not buy 7x - Car and vehicle electronics

So there are 2 different models. Do not buy the 7x version of this device! Basically, you can only create your own cards and never use other card abilities or features. Buy one that already has maps loaded on it. Or you can seemingly drive around the lake by scanning and creating your own map, which takes days and tons of gas.

Device cannot load live C-Map Genesis charts from other users

I love Lowrance products. However, this product has a serious limitation that makes it almost useless for me. We all know that one of the great benefits of Lowrance products is the ability to create and share C-Map Genesis live contour maps. This block does just that. No problem. I've spoken to three different Lowrance representatives and it appears that this device is unable to download Genesis Live data created by other Lowrance users. For those who buy this device, this means that you cannot

Research Research Research! The number of models is too confusing.

Lack of concise wording on packaging in marketing, if you didn't know the difference between a church plotter and a depth sounder/plotter you would be doing exactly the same thing as us and ordering the wrong one, even after careful verification. What they can't tell you is that YOU make the hardware. while everything else i.e. software is provided by third parties.

I would not recommend this

I've been a Lowrance guy for years and this is by far the worst sonar I've ever used. I have 2 sonars on my boat, one of them is a 4 hook and the fish appears on it and the 7 triple shot shows nothing in the sonar or down scan. Yves called support and a couple of people tweaked the fish settings. finder and we can't get it to show fish reliably. On the other hand, the side scan works like a charm with no issues.

Great device but I can't give 5 stars due to tech support

I bought this unit after years of using Garmin 5DV because I wanted something with side scan. The block, like all others, is easy to install. The only problem I have is that it takes a while to load and find the satellites and it's driving me crazy. (Garmin on and ready to go.) The device will also nag you to death about registration. I went through the registration process and the code didn't work. I contacted tech support for help and as usual they told me to do the exact same thing I hadโ€ฆ
