Great product for Hobie PA12

I wish I bought this from another company but it's really good. Installed it on my 2017 Hobie PA12. Definitely worth the money. Note that a star mount is used here and not the standard mount that comes with the Hobie Lowrance.

Not as advertised on Marine Electronics

No depth sounder although shown as a depth sounder. no screen You have to build it yourself to return to the site or buy a SIM card with downloaded maps for an additional fee. All it's good for is speed, pace and depth. Provides no further details. A different model is shown. Do not be fooled.

Great tool for echo sounder and fish finder

I use a 5 hook on my fishing kayak. A great device that has helped me quickly locate and find fish and most importantly catch them. paired with a 10 Ah lithium battery I can get on the water for about 2 days. Buy a 32GB SD card for Genesis Live features, especially if you're fishing ponds and small bodies of water. This way you can create your own charts.

Knowing how to use it.

When we took it out to fish we were stopped by a STOP message and stopped using it and put it back in the box and used the old sonar fishing in East Washington for five days . It would have been nice to have a phone number to call and discuss how to use this product rather than returning it as we would love to use it. It's completely useless at the moment.

Good clear screen ideal for marine electronics

Fish finder looks good when installed. My husband easily installed it on his 17ft boat but had trouble setting it up (he is not an instructor). I was able to take control and follow the instructions to get it working, but when we tried to run the sonar functions, they "stopped" on the screen. A quick search on YouTube fixed our issue and we've started investigating the functionality.

Misleading advertising / Warning!

Images shown in advertisements have an internal map. That's a lie for this division. There is no internal mapping and no maps or anything to display a map on this 5X device. No downloads, nothing. Visual advertising is completely wrong. I bought the 5X because the ad showed a card and even the box it came in had a card. Lowrance packs the smaller 5X in the box instead of their 5. High quality, easy installation (Update - NOT WORKING! UPDATE #2 - WORKING AGAIN!)

used sonars before. The GPS plotter is basically useless and I was disappointed with its performance but honestly that's not what I bought it for anyway. Downscan, sidescan, sonar all work great, wish the price was a little lower but overall I'm very happy with this purchase. It just shows a white screen with water temp and speed but no sonar, downscan etc. Says "Stopped" and cannot connect to the sensor. Too much frustration with sonar signal reception.

I don't like the Lowrance Hook 5 Reveal and wouldn't recommend it to anyone for two reasons. Yes it comes with everything I need to make it work but the main reason is that it doesn't send a sonar signal to the sonar. It showed the temperature of the water, the speed I was walking at, but didn't return a sonar signal. I thought it was because I placed it in the wrong spot in my kayak so I moved the sensor and still no return. The guide that came with the Lowrance was about as good as the one…
