Doesn't work on my Asus Strix-E X570 motherboard.

I bought this to add some extra SATA drives to my Windows 10 Pro PC. The device has already been flashed to firmware P16. However, it was not recognized at boot and neither were the attached drives recognized. Switched cables, different mobile devices and connections, but to no avail. When the device was recognized in Windows but I couldn't install the correct drivers to make this device work. I'm not sure if it was a hardware incompatibility or just a driver issue. Kudos to Amazon support. The

    I/O port card firmware

I had to erase the BIOS and firmware for this card and reinstall the latest versions to make the card recognize drives (2TB 2 x WD and 2 x SanDisk ). At some point the card decided to drop WD and after a reboot started resyncing RAID10. Consistency checks are very inconsistent. Of course, enabling WriteCache on SSD drives increases write speeds significantly, from x8x to x10x, although LSI does NOT recommend it. I'm glad the card can be managed with the latest MegaRAID utility.

UPDATE: Works great if you have the correct firmware

UPDATE: I originally gave this unit 2/5 stars. I have left my original review below for posterity. I'm running Linux on a 4.9.6 kernel with the mpt3sas driver (for this card) version P13. From what I've read, the card firmware and host driver must match for the best and most secure performance. I flashed my card to P14 (see below) and encountered major problems. It took a bit of effort to downgrade it to P13, but I managed it (including booting a FreeDOS machine that didn't have UEFI). In any…

Worked best in I/O port maps

Four stars is my best rating for something that does what it's supposed to. Five stars because you convinced me. However, this HBA card arrived in a bag (fixed) along with a universal CD with drivers and instructions. It fit right, the driver was easy enough to find and download. This makes the startup sequence a bit longer, but that's to be expected. There are four SAS devices and four SATA devices for my use and their speeds are fine. This card came with an LSI stamp, no cables included. It…
