makes the turtle more active

The light works great. Not too light or dark. I noticed a difference in my son's red ears. Seems much happier swimming and eating more. I've had it for two weeks now and it's still working great. But it is known to cause cancer with prolonged use. So I will try to switch back and forth to another bulb.

Pros
  • Very profitable
Cons
  • A few little things

Excellent UV lamp! - Heat lamps

This is an excellent UV lamp, I especially recommend this lamp to bearded dragon owners. Since using the lamp on them I have noticed a significant improvement in their appetite. They love the lightbulb and like to sunbathe, for those who need UVB for calcium this is good. They generate minimal heat, so you'll need another lightbulb as a heat source.

  • good thing
Cons

Blow out every month

I don't know why the reptile companies can't make a light that doesn't burn out faster than General Patton walked through tank shells during the Battle of the Bulge. These are decent headlights as long as they last, but you'd better have extras on hand because they have a HORRIBLE lifespan. But they are ALL. Whatever brand I buy, it breaks instantly. There could be light hoods over the snake tank but I've recently upgraded to a deeper, more ventilated hood and the light stays on a little…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Bought about a month ago. So far, so good. very, very, very bright. The reptiles don't seem to notice the difference from any light other than their surroundings (normal room lighting) and are doing fine. works well. They just look like small, unusually bright coiled household lightbulbs. They are slightly longer than the small lamp they are in. Slightly longer than the original bulbs that came with this little light. It's aesthetically unpleasing, but it serves its purpose.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Working speed

Not a shade of blue like I wanted for turtle eyes

Lightbulb on the left of the photo. He's almost white. It's a very, very light shade of lavender next to my usual white heated bulb. Not enough blue to dull the bright light without irritating our 15 year old turtles eyes. Most likely, after this lamp, we will return to the previous brand. ** Will be updated after about a month of use so people know how the lamp works. *** One week use 09/14/18: The lamp is not that bright. After a few days it became a bit more lavender. So good for turtle…

  • Absolute Legend
