Worked 6 hours, good for heating lamps and terrarium mats

This light bulb worked for 6 hours. When I first turned it off, it never came back on. I bought this 2 months ago to have on hand if my current light died so I now have no 30 day return window and almost $30. 😑 Now my dragon is cold while I order more onions. This "backup" was garbage.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Transparent bulb 100W in heat lamps

I started using this particular bulb over a year ago. My tortoise loves its light and stays warm most of the time. I had a case of a blown bulb and even though I threw it away without taking a picture it was fixed anyway. It's time for a new one and as long as I can buy it here I will continue to do so.

Do not use a dimmer on these lamps!

This is my second purchase of this bulb. It's great at keeping my beard warm and has the UVA/UVB it needs. I've read comments about this bulb burning out after minimal use. My question is; do you use a dimmer? NOT! These lamps are too powerful for dimmer switches. I learned the same thing as all of you and replaced them too soon! Save yourself a costly lesson and get rid of the dimmer! By the way: if you have burned out other reptile bulbs and because of the dimmer; Here's why!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Keep quiet

Doesn't illuminate the aquarium as brightly as the ZooMed brand. There is also a green cast in a small area of illumination - see photo. Temps recorded and they're a good 106 degrees 6 inches under light on the high branch. Bottom temperature is 96 degrees in a 40 gallon aquarium. That being said I would recommend this brand over ZooMed as my dragon seems to be a lot more alert and active. . He seems a lot happier with it, which is why I like it. ❀ I have edited this review several times since…
