If you use them with constant water or oil lubrication, and for the materials they are designed to cut - stone, glass, porcelain - they will do their job well. Composite or abrasive coated blades are not designed to cut aluminum and will clog very quickly like a grinding wheel will when attempting to grind aluminum. I'm not a specialist, I don't cut glass regularly. I only bought the wheels to try out some amateur glass piecework. However, a few days ago I had to cut a hole in the window to meet our gas supplier's requirements. The window had double glass 4mm + 4mm with plastic in between. It was a 20cm x 20cm hole.
