Worth the money for power tools and hand tools

As others have suggested; I don't know why I didn't buy this sooner. Cuts quickly, cleanly and quietly. The standard cutter often squeaked when cutting large box brass. (338 Lapua, 45-70 and others). Trimmed (50) 300 WM cases with a carbide cutter about twice as fast as before. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Compatible

Should be stock but a definite upgrade

Must have trimmed a few thousand .223s and .308s. It seemed that cutting it to length required more effort than it needed to. So I bought this and WOW! Almost no effort, and after a few thousand more, the .223 is still like a hot knife through butter. Day and night is different from the standard steel cutter.

Pros
  • Very impressive

There was no set screw with the cutter. The hole is not fully drilled.

Cuts quickly. Emailed RCBS and they sent 2 replacement set screws. I had to put #8 lead shot under the set screw to keep the pilot in the cutter. The hole is not fully drilled. Prevents the locking screw from locking the pilot in the torch. Works well with lead shot under the propeller

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • All Fine

GREAT TOOL IN CUTTER

THIS ITEM HAS TO BE THE BEST ACCESSORY I BUY FOR MY TRIMMER. SELECTED FROM BODY HEAD. RECOMMENDED: IF YOU HAVE A DRILL ADAPTER, USE THIS CUTTER AT SLOW SPEED OR IT WILL RUN. YOU WILL START WITH SOME INTERFACES OF THE BODY. EVERYTHING TO MAKE LIFE EASIER. IT'S A LITTLE EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH IT.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Not sure

I should have bought this a long time ago! Works perfectly!

10 seconds after trying this I was wondering why I didn't buy it a long time ago. The original cutter head cut many, many rounds, but eventually became so dull that it ground the edge instead of cutting it. I've tried sharpening it - and I usually sharpen tools quite well - but it didn't help. I would advise anyone with a Lyman trimmer to forget about the cheaper replacement head and buy this one. It really should be the one that comes with the tool. I've read some other reviews that said they…

The only way to fly.

My original die head was worn out so I ordered some new standard die heads and cut about 1000 cases of various calibers. Even with new heads, I find it difficult to remove the pilot from each case after trimming. The brass is not cut cleanly and some of it is flattened and bunched inside and outside of the neck which takes a lot of effort for me to remove the pilot. Even after using my third new cutting head, it became more and more difficult. Trimming the case became a frustrating task of…
