- Compact, clear, takes decent pictures
- The battery runs out a little faster than you would intuitively expect from it. Well, traditionally darkish whale lens
- + Strong autofocus + Good color reproduction in a natural profile (I also recommend setting Adobe RGB in the settings) + Compact and lightweight + Flip-down display + 50/60 fps 1080 and 100/120 fps 720
- - Soap whale 15-45 (it is better to cover the aperture by 1-2 from the minimum value) - No matrix stabilization (it doesnāt really affect the photo, and itās very problematic to shoot video with your hands even with such a low weight) - Almost all settings are hidden in the menu. There are few buttons / wheels on the case, which somewhat complicates manual settings - Double cropped 4K (in addition to the regular crop, 4K is cropped again by 1.6)
- Dual pixel autofocus. Photo quality + burst speed increase. Full-HD video shooting at 50fps (+ there is electronic video stabilization if the optics are without a stub). The viewfinder is decent (100% coverage, albeit electronic) - indispensable in bad weather or in bright sunshine. Adjust the focus point on the screen even when the viewfinder is on. Focus Peaking mark when focusing manually. Interval video filming of long processes - sunset for example. The 3" screen rotates as you like (you can generally close it inward so as not to damage it). WiFi / BT - for the rapid transmission of several frames or control (proprietary software for Win and Android worked fine right away). Outer shoe for flash, etc. (+ built-in on the edge case), external microphone jack (at least something will save in windy shooting). Intuitive interface and menu with a lot of settings (hints can be disabled) with button reprogramming.
- The font became smaller on the info screens (compared with the first M). A complete new M15-45 lens with a specific lock (replaced with the classic M18-55, and it is lighter). The battery remained old - small in capacity (on the other hand - they are suitable for some previous cameras). The camera does not charge via USB - this is apparently left for the future. Not all programs understand the new Canon RAW format CR3 yet (but the option with cRAW CR3 compression is good).
- -Photo and video quality -A bunch of different photo and video shooting modes, you can change absolutely everything - Auto mode works great -The touchscreen turned out to be a very convenient thing, especially in combination with tracking autofocus -Autofocus is just a magical thing -Price -Very comfortable, everything in its place. - Very well made, nice plastic -Lightweight and compact, especially compared to the 450D
- -Battery charge, but in principle for 2 days of moderate shooting is enough -While it is a little inconvenient to use the zoom during video shooting, the ring is jerky at low speeds. But it's a matter of habit
- + Photo quality and FullHD video shooting +Dual pixel autofocus +Canon color rendition + Intuitive interface and settings menu (unlike most other manufacturers)
- - Plastic body. In terms of reliability - no complaints, but "premium" does not cause sensations. - Not enough physical controls - just one full-fledged wheel - Canon's dodgy marketers did this on purpose to separate the "premium" (EOS M5, M6) from the "entry level" cameras - although at the moment the M50 is the flagship in terms of capabilities. - Cost of original accessories. I ordered lens hoods and backup batteries from China, the quality is no worse than the originals, but two to four times cheaper.
- Small - fits in your pocket Good autofocus
- ā¢The battery flies in 20 minutes of video ā¢ install optics only through an adapter - canon ef-m is very expensive and dark. ā¢ whale lens - (15-45) sucks ā¢ no stub ā¢ relatively expensive
- Convenience and price, optical stub on a whale

- 1. Excellent photo and video quality. 2. Compact dimensions. 3. Rotary touch display. 4. A lot of settings for an amateur camera, even in excess. 5. Convenient arrangement of controls, you get used to it very quickly. 6. Excellent sound quality with built-in microphones. 7. The presence of a 3.5 mm jack for an external microphone. 8. The presence of a not bad viewfinder. 9. Decent lens included. 10. Remarkable fast autofocus. 11. The presence of both a built-in flash and a hot shoe in the device. 12. Practically does not heat up when shooting a video.
- 1. Low battery capacity. 2. It is not possible to charge the battery inside the device via a USB cable. 3. Subjectively, the connector for an external microphone is not well located, it covers part of the display. 4. Long battery cover. You will not be able to remove the memory card or battery if the camera is on a tripod. 5. You can only shoot 4K video statically, otherwise the jelly effect is just crazy. 6. Plastic, rough and rather easily soiled case.
- Not
- Useless set of parts
- Lightweight, fast turn on, good auto-mode. Photos for printing are excellent.
- When the flash is on, the battery starts signaling about the discharge quite quickly. I immediately bought a second battery, after reading reviews, but it still lies unpacked.
- Absolutely everything, just a bomb machine! Took for shooting video on YouTube and photos. Performs its functions at 100! Autofocus is excellent, stabilization is on top! The charge holds for a long time. Discharge only happened once when I shot in 4K. It is convenient that you can transfer the photo directly to your phone, process it quickly and upload / send it there. Mobility at its best!
- It often interferes with the fact that the image switches from the display to the viewfinder from the close location of the subject to the viewfinder sensor. Shooting in 4K doesn't make much sense. I tried it once - a strong crop, poor autofocus, quickly lands the battery (I planted it in an hour of shooting, I couldnāt discharge it anymore)
- 1. Valid matrix. If you believe the DD measurements found on the network, then at ISO 100 you get more than 13 stops. Even at ISO 1250, you can get a frame of excellent quality (of course, here already under the condition of an almost perfectly correct exposure and a slight increase in the degree of noise reduction during post-processing in Canon DPP). 2. Good kit lens EF-M 15-45. It's a bit dark (f/6.3 at telephoto), but I personally didn't have any complaints about sharpness. And with it, the camera is at least reasonably compact (fits in the section of my backpack where I usually carry a flash). 3. Good ergonomics (like a small DSLR like my 1300D). It sits perfectly in my bony hand (although the camera is already too small for my rather large colleague). This also includes the ability to customize the interface so that it looks like a DSLR. 4. Integrated EVI (electronic viewfinder), bright and clear. 5. Folding screen - it just came to me, but for vloggers or selfie lovers, this is a very important feature. 6. High-speed continuous shooting - up to 10 frames per second (when bullying, ISO slows down, just like autofocus speed). 7. Able to set shutter speed in direct proportion to the focal length of the lens (at least when Auto ISO is on in Av and P modes). 8. You can reconfigure most of the buttons. 9. The presence of in-camera lens distortion correction (everything, not just vignetting) and in-camera RAW processing. 10. The presence of the Focus Peaking mode with manual focusing (this is the color illumination of sharp edges).
- 1. Only one wheel (in addition to the mode selector) - the one called the main one. The M5 has 4 of them. 2. Small buffer - I have even seen the number 7 in the lower right corner of the viewfinder when shooting in RAW (at ISO, but >= 2022). In reality, in such a situation, the camera slowed down the shooting only after about 10 frames, but this is still, well, just very little. 3. Unlike the M5 mentioned above, there is no electronically controlled flash up - just take your fingers on the ledges and raise it yourself. 4. This problem does not apply to the camera, but to the system as a whole: a poor choice of EF-M optics and loss of compactness when using EF / EF-S glasses through an adapter. Although if all native optics are comparable in quality to whale 15-45, then I would take a closer look at the 18-150 travel zoom and 22 width. 5. Disgustingly designed instructions - made by analogy with the instructions for soap dishes, and not for SLRs. The cost of the fact that Canon focuses the camera on those who have been shooting all their lives on automatic soap dishes and will be treated the same way with this camera (shooting exclusively in AUTO modes and, for the most advanced, SCN).
- Small, light. After customization and some getting used to it is comfortable. I like the video very much. Good matrix. I have been using canon for a long time. Get used to this color profile. Any Ken glasses fit and work great through an adapter. Manual glasses have received a new breath due to the color indication of the focus area. I liked it very much. I easily focus the manuals on the desired point of the model with my hands! On the video, I can smoothly move the focus around the picture. This is great! With my eyesight, this is fantastic) The glasses are in my pocket.
- Yes, there are disadvantages. But I drilled a new hole in the tripod shoe, the camera moved and now the lid opens completely. I have 5 batteries. In general, the shortcomings are not annoying. For the money they are not significant.
- does not overheat, excellent autofocus in fhd, good colors, swivel touch screen, microphone input, autonomy, the ability to power through a dummy.
- Devilish long-gop, rolling shutter at 4k, no working autofocus at 4k, additional 1.6 crop at 4k, unconvincing native lenses with a dubious future
- Very, very good camera for vlogging. I took it exclusively for video 1080 25fps, but in the end, it completely replaced the Canon 700d for me. Insanely pleased with the focus speed, color reproduction and battery.
- The biggest, I would even say monstrous, drawback is NOT a MIRROR. It's smaller, in my hand like a toy, a tiny lens with a stupid lock. Also sad is the lack of charging via USB. But this is all subjective, because there are much more advantages. A few words about the stub - for me this is a drawback, but for many it will be a plus: it works well, even very well, but when you shoot on the move with a gimbal and forget to turn off the built-in stub, very often you get jelly at the output))
