I should have bought this a long time ago

After many upgrades and still reliable, I still have a wired keyboard and mouse for my 2009 Mac Pro 4.1 since I bought them new 12 years ago. Until now. As we all know, BT was a problem for these machines. After this update I am now using a magic mouse and trackpad that I bought 10 years ago but never got to use. Easy to install and such a simple solution. I installed a remote antenna next to the mouse pad. No more disconnects, pointer stuttering, or general dissatisfaction with Bluetooth…

Easy to install, good price, long cable

I have a 2009 Mac Pro under my desk and I use an Apple wireless keyboard and mouse. The Bluetooth connection between the keyboard/mouse and Mac Pro would drop regularly due to Apple's poor design decision to hide the tiny standard Bluetooth antenna deep inside the computer's aluminum box (no closer even than the *front* of that box!). WHAT DID YOU THINK? This kit easily fixes this design flaw. Installation took less than 15 minutes and there are many videos on Youtube showing how to do it. The…

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Very expensive

This kit installs on my MacPro 5.1 in about 20 minutes. I can restore my machine to its original condition at any time. Moving the Bluetooth antenna outside of the MacPro case increased my MacPro's signal strength by about 10dB. This allows me to install a third party USB3.0 card and use newer and faster USB devices in my MacPro. Without this kit, adding a USB stick made Bluetooth unstable. Moving the antenna outside of the case solves this problem. This kit includes an extension cable and…

Improves reception. Good range of upgrades.

Good upgrade. I stopped doing this when I upgraded the graphics card in my Mac Pro (Mid 2010). As other reviews have noted, the tiny cable connection to the computer required care and patience. But it can be done: just use lots of light and take your time. I am happy about the improvement in reception. I can play music from my Mac through the bluetooth speaker outside of our deck, which I couldn't before installing. I lifted the external antenna onto the table and temporarily secured it with a…

Improved Signal on Dino Imac

This was the perfect solution to the intermittent Bluetooth connection on my early 2008 24" Imac. I recently upgraded the storage and internal storage to a 1TB SSD, but the bluetooth connection was terrible just disconnect the factory BT antenna cable and connect this external BT antenna I was able to drill a bigger hole in the bottom of the frame to get through the connector and my RSSI signal improved from -80 to -40 Now this machine works better than when you bought it Thank you!

Worked fine on MP 2009!

This kit went well with my question. I had previously replaced the WiFi/BT card with a newer version but decided to try reusing the original antennas. Big mistake. My Matias keyboard and Apple Magic Mouse had poor BT signal strength. Now I have an average of -58-64dBm each. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I thought the internal cable could be a bit longer. The instructions that came with it weren't the best either.

Worked great for networking products

Worked great on my Mac Pro (Mid 2012). The installation was agonizing because the connection is so tiny. This is Apple's fault. I'm just grateful that there is someone who recognized the problem, found a solution and implemented it for all of us. I still don't understand the problem very well as bluetooth worked with my Bluedio Victory headphones. but not with my BT Macally keyboard. I understand why Bluetooth can be such an issue on this Mac; I mean, who would put an antenna in a Faraday cage…
