I saw the light but I didn't

Once I installed it seems to work. It was a pain in the ass hitting the flashlight. The lamp needs to be inserted into the base and is very easy to knock out by screwing the cap into the flashlight. The lamp wires were constantly twisting and bending, and it was necessary to use needle nose pliers to straighten the wires and then reinsert them. Like I said, a real pain! I won't buy anything like this again. I would have preferred just one bulb like the original.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

It works, that's all.

I am trying to replace the standard bulb on my 2D Mag Light and thought this would be an improvement over the original bulb. You see I have a MagLight keychain flashlight which is about 20 times brighter than the OEM bulb that came with the 2-D flashlight. Also, the Dollar Store LED is about 10 times brighter than the stock bulb, so I ordered it as a replacement. It turns out, . . . This is a camp lamp. So now I have a third regular lightbulb and a flashlight that works when you don't need a…

Batteries are easy to find, but when the bulb burns out

I have lots of these in stock. Mini shops are virtually indestructible, batteries are easy to find, but if a lightbulb burns out, you're out of luck. Especially if you're hunting, fishing or relaxing at night when you REALLY need it. Many of you may not know that a spare bulb can be stored under a cover under the spring. Some Mini Mags come with a spare bulb in a tiny foam protector, if you don't have one put it in there. Remove the cap from the small end where the batteries go, twist the…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence

  • Unfashionable

You can't beat the price.

I have seen these bulbs in some stores for up to $20. When mine broke and I looked around for new Revains I couldn't believe how cheap they were. I've had my Mini Maglite for almost 20 years and it took just as long for the original and replacement bulb that came with it to burn out. I probably won't have to order them again. Maybe that's why stores want so much of it because they don't sell a lot of it because they're of such good quality. I just find it hard to believe that they sell bulbs…

Perfect replacement at a low price.

I have two dual AA Maglite flashlights that needed spare bulbs as a backup and one active bulb that blew out. I bought two packs and after seeing how much brighter one flashlight is compared to the other I switched the other bulb in the flashlight that was still working because they are so much brighter. Both flashlights use new AA lithium batteries, which have a higher initial voltage than alkaline AA batteries. I don't know if this affects the durability of these lamps or not, so I cannot…
