MagnaFlow Exhaust Products 12586 Muffler Review

if this was installed on my 2015 4runner. The sound is excellent in certain areas, a little humming in certain areas when accelerating. I would have liked more rumble at idle, but overall I'm happy.

As expected, this is a large muffler body. I installed it on a 2010 Ford Explorer 4.0 and it was tight but fit. At idle, when starting and at low speeds, it is practically non-existent. But under load it will definitely be visible from the outside and people will hear it. Zero moans. I'm happy with that.

I have a 2001 Land Cruiser with 180,000 miles on it. Buddy has one of these on IH8MUD and loves it. I swapped out my stock OEM muffler and to be honest I can't tell any difference in the sound. About the same level of aggressive noise. I was hoping for more v8 growl but didn't get it. Can't argue with the price, looks cool. I would have liked a little more "waaaa" at the start. I'll write back in a few months.

Magnaflows are made of high quality materials and construction. That muffler doesn't interest me at all though - it robs low-end torque, reduces fuel economy and sounds terrible. I had a Flowmaster Super 44 before and it sounded like a truck. The only downside was the rumble at a speed of about 2 thousand.

I installed it on an '05 Tundra with a 4.7 V8 engine. At idle, the difference to the stock muffler is not noticeable, but you can hear it when you step on the gas. There are no drones at all on the HWY! I felt an increase in performance in terms of acceleration but not the V8 sound I was hoping for. Although it is very well made and looks cool. Bottom line: If you want V8 sound, pick 18, but you can get the thump on the HWY. 22 is a safe bet if you don't need a drone at all but still need…

This muffler is only 2" shorter than the stock muffler on my old 2000 Land Rover Discovery, I knew that when I ordered it. I had already removed the stock resonator about a year before installing the Magnaflow 12586. I was looking for a little more rumble and the 12586 barely delivers it, if someone changed that muffler without my knowledge I'm not sure I would have noticed the difference. This muffler was used to replace a cracked stock muffler and rear resonator on an 05 4runner Sport. Since the old muffler was so bad, the new one felt great. This muffler was installed on my 4th generation Toyota 4Runner V6 in addition to removing the factory resonator and redirecting the exhaust to the car behind the rear wheel. Quality as expected from Magnaflow - stainless steel body, solid welds and overall just a great looking muffler. The delivery was quick but the box was a bit wrinkled when it arrived.
