Large, strong magnets align with the agitator magnet and stay in sync (even inexpensive agitators work well). Eight flat sides (octal shaped) improve turbulence for more efficient (and faster) mixing, even as viscosity increases. This is a great product at a decent price. The coating is similar to real PTFE (Teflon), so it has to be chemically non-reactive and heat-resistant.

Pair doesn't turn center but other pair turns right. I'm not sure what could have caused this, but didn't realize my experiment failed before using it as it was made sterile so I couldn't open the container to change them. Buying cheap stirrers cost me 5x because of a failed experiment. My mistake. Otherwise, the other pair works fine. I only suggest that you test them before relying on them. It's a silly mistake on my part not to test them, so I'm giving them 3 stars.

I won't talk about popular stirrer models. I bought one and then bought a set of ten 1 inch stirrers to make up for the shortcomings of the stirrer I bought and at the same time I bought another stirrer which cost twenty dollars more than the first and found that the new one record I bought was completely shocked. while the first was mediocre. but they won't work the way you want if you get a dirty stir plate.
