Very happy with these 4 Β½ " cut-off wheels

I got one of these with a Makita cordless sander. I cut some pipe and nails and didn't notice any noticeable wear. I have a lot of 3" cut-off wheels in an air tool at work that doesn't cut as well and doesn't last as long I was impressed enough to pre-order twenty-five more because I never want to be without this useful tool.

Best blade I have found

These are exceptional blades for cutting metal! Over the years I've used thousands of other blades and worn out 20 grinders. How about 10 cuts and a few cracks in the roof panels from a $1.60 wheel. I cut out a 1/2" x 6" soft board and made 6 cuts with a cordless sander. The fine kerf and high quality make for easy cutting, and if broken from mishandling, the wheels will fail on the hub and never break. Never force them, let them fray and they hold up better than most.

Perfect cutting discs

There's a bit of magic in these cutting discs from Makita. I have tried different brands and have never had results as good as this one. The ultra-thin material is remarkably strong in steel, aluminum and plastic. Wear and tear really isn't an issue if you let the disc cut. Some people like to push the wheel in the cut, if you do you will have a very short life from them. If you let the wheel do all the work, they cut really hard and last a ridiculously long time. When I say funny, I cut 18…

used to cut through a T304 stainless steel exhaust pipe (approx. 2mm wide)

Liked the way they cut through the hardened stainless steel exhaust pipe sections that I put together to install an aftermarket muffler on my car market. Based on my experience I'd say the best way to get a nice clean cut is to use a chain cutter to cut a decent outline and then have that nice thin blade cut through that groove - in a fraction of the time it takes it would even take a higher end pipe cutter to finish the job (for me anyway). In safe cutting areas (ie NOT under a car in your…

Probably the best cutting discs in the world! I'm not kidding, it's amazing.

Once you try them you won't use similar sized leftovers again. Made in Japan. An extremely thin cut-off wheel for extremely fast cutting that is also flexible so you can deform it to cut flush. I buy 5 inch models. I had a few breaks after they deformed for too long when cutting flush but I knew I had abused them and the breaks were only ever in the center hub separating from the disc, no drama, no damage. and no injuries. I've used over a hundred of them and none of them have broken or thrown…
