great knife and tool!

I'm impressed with this tool, it's the best thing after slicing bread! in the world of renovation and refurbishment! The blades seem very good, I cut a 1" deep hole in the old floor and no problem!

It does what it says on the tin

Oddly enough, I've used this drywall saw to cut drywall. After setting the correct depth I made a square cut and then pressed and the drywall came out. It worked with the batteries I have so I bought these. If you have 18V LXT batteries and need to cut drywall, you'll love this saw.

Good but expensive power tool parts and accessories

This sheet is the basis for using the Makita Drywall Saw (XDS01Z). Sure, Makita says you can use cheaper snap-off knife blades, but these blades are definitely more versatile. These are quality blades, made in Japan, but as others have said, almost $13 each for 1.5 inches of thin steel - that seems like a bit of an overstatement. These can last forever.

A few months ago I bought a tool and two packs of saw blades. Me and the other crew members cut through a lot of drywall with the blade that came with the tool. No one, including me, has taken any notice of the tool or the blades and they still look brand new. Often we thread the cord through the middle of the bobby pin and cut it. Sure, we'll come across nails and screws, but we've identified most of them with the Qwik Mag II (available from AMZ), but it still doesn't take much effort to work…
