Works as it should: Fish & Aquatic Pets

I've had no problems. The numbers can be difficult to read, but they indicate the range where the water temperature should be, highlighted in green. It helps a lot. Worth the price.

It just works - aquarium thermometer

Made the mistake of buying an electronic thermometer for my betta. It was absolute rubbish. Decided to try a regular old school thermometer instead. This thing is perfect. It is accurate and does not float on the tank. It's small, so the pressure is inherently small, but the optimal temperature range is the green bar.

Does it wobble or sink, that's the question

It sinks I wanted this with Bob in enough water/tank to reach your fingers so you don't get your hands wet. got is the one that sinks to the bottom and bounces and spins so you can't see the temp. Then you have to wet your hand to get back in position to read it. In general, the sensor is difficult to read due to the refraction of light in water and glass. Great for a 1 gallon bowl but not so good for a large aquarium.

Cons
  • Appearance

I put him in my aquarium and he drowned and stayed on the bottom in the left side corner. I was disappointed that it startles my fish so much they move and stay on the far right bank until I get them out of the tank. Before I bought it I thought it would stand on the water surface in a corner that wouldn't scare the fish, but apparently this device has been modified from how it used to work. However, the temperature portion is legible and should be accurate.

Difficult to read! for aquarium thermometer

I think it's okay for the price. The little markings on the thermometer make it very difficult to see, but if you hold it very close to the jar you can tell if it's within the recommended range they have on it. You may need a small flashlight and reading glasses. If you see a similar one that costs more than $2.99 I wouldn't buy it. I paid €2.99 and it's worth it. Hope it holds up without breaking. Mine stays in place at the bottom but I have it in the front corner away from any flow from the…

  • Best in its niche

  • Good but not outstanding

Cheap and does the job (sort of)

I bought this for my turtle tank and the price was great, quick delivery and I think it gives pretty accurate readings (we'll really know when my other one arrives). What I don't like is that it's really small. So imagine trying to read the numbers on this tiny thing while it's in the water. It stands upright and is not attached to anything, if something floats or bumps you need to correct the alignment. with a time display on just one side, if you turn it slightly or turn it fully you can read

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
