If you're expecting it to be waterproof or tough, that doesn't mean the wires are exposed at the base of the switch, you'll need to use marine sealant to fill the hole. The wires are extremely hard sheathed, no flexibility

This product is not very well built. It is not waterproof and the slightest ingress of water can cause a short circuit and uncontrolled running of the motor. I went to my engine and found it completely cleaned and the engine ran for who knows how long.

The switch is exactly the same as the original switch that came on my 1999 boat. Hope this one lasts as long. There were no instructions in the switch box. The wire colors (blue, purple, and green) matched what was on my boat. I used a volt/ohmmeter to make sure the switch was working before installing it.

Product worked for a week then started sticking when button was pressed. Now when I turn on the battery breaker my terminal board starts to sink and I can't turn it off without turning off the battery breaker. I have four of these switches on my boat because of the tower. I seem to go through about one a year. I go with instant rocker switches

The on/off button is handy, but I've noticed that when I press the buttons occasionally I get a slight jerk, as if the device wasn't grounded. There are only 3 wires, top, bottom and power. I screwed small SS studs to the side of my motor. Both up and down you give a boost by touching something on the boat (pontoon). I'm not sure if my switch is faulty or what, but it's a surprise when it happens.

I am happy with this purchase and my only regret is that I have not bought something like this before. Mounted adjacent to the stern swim platform anchor locker on an 18ft Bowrider with I/O and factory Mercruiser trim/tilt. You no longer have to walk back from the helm to check if the drive is low enough when preparing for an engine flush or storage. I crimped the terminals onto the included wires and simply attached them to the terminal lugs on the trim/tilt block. The post lasted 10 minutes.

Item arrived as described and works great. I wanted to install a trim/tilt switch on the center console of our boat. Our outboard motor has a switch as well as a throttle valve. This is easy to do and if you set the throttle for cruising speed the way our boat is set up it works great as you don't have to move your hand on the throttle to adjust the trim/pitch.
