Marineland Maxi Jet 1200

I've seen previous customers complain about the noise from these pumps and some people have claimed that the $45 pumps make no noise compared to these. I figured I could get 3 of these for the price of one at the pet store so I decided to buy 2 of these for my 28 JBJ Nanocube. The flow rate is perfect and they fit nicely in my cubic sump. I've found them to be noisier than the pumps I've had before, but they're no louder than the fans that are installed in the hood. I can handle the noise for…

Fish love the power of the current

This works with a sponge filter in my 20High. The black and white photo is a close-up shot showing the installation. Unfortunately the white roots of my plant obscure most of the show but if you look through the roots for the black all is as described. The color image should show what it looks like in the tank, if you look really closely you will see bubbles showing how far the flow is reaching the end. I installed it just below the betta trunk, it has the top of the tank and all the rainbows…

Bought October 3rd already broken

A little over a month of sporadic use (maybe 3-6 hours a day) and the thing is already broken. Nothing sticks the work or anything like that. I just plug it in and the motor is dead like it has no power. I tried several connections. He's dead as a doornail. It's always surprising that outside of certain water brands, you're better off using a much cheaper fake. The ones I expected to break and yet my fake sponge filters etc lasted way longer than this piece of junk. I'm glad I never bought…

First Marineland product

I feel like I've never owned a Marineland product and am generally impressed. I've had it up and running for almost a week now and it's virtually silent. I was also impressed by the many possible uses of this pump. I prefer to work with the powerhead setting. The consumption is excellent for my 20 liters. Initially I didn't use the aeration option, but then I decided to add some bubbles to see if that would break up the water surface a bit. So far this doesn't work. The tube is a bit loose and…

MARINELAND PRODUCTS ARE NOT GOOD QUALITY

I HAVE BEEN USING MARINELAND PRODUCTS FOR YEARS. THE LAST TIME I BOUGHT 8 YEARS AGO. BECAUSE I TRUSTED THIS BRAND, I BUYED MAXI JETS. THIS IS THE WORST EXAMPLE OF PRODUCT ACCELERATION THROUGH CHINA PRODUCTION. AFTER USING THEM FOR A DAY THEY START ROUNDING AND THE SOUND WAS REAL DELIVERY. THEN THE REAR CAPS JUST FALL AND THEN THEY ALL STOP WORKING. A LITTLE SALT IN THE AREA WILL CAUSE SULFATE RUSTING IN THAT SHORT TIME. AND YES, THE PUMPS HUNG TO "WORK" AFTER COOLING DOWN ONLY TO STOP OVER…

Good pump. at Fish & Aquatic Pets

I installed the MJ900 in a 16 gallon BioCube. I'm happy with the performance, it's much better than the original pump. It's kind of a tight fit. You must use a short strainer (included). I had to cut about 1/2 inch from the original tank outlet tube as the new pump was slightly less powerful than the original. Then he came very close. I found I had to mount it on suction cups to keep it from rattling. You need to lightly attach the mount to the top of the glass before inserting the power head…

Too loud for a show tank. Great for everything else.

I got a great discount so I bought three. These pumps are noisy and you can hear the impellers/propellers rumbling all the time. My guess is that this is due to the "slacker" manufacturing tolerances for the impeller for a given price; and i have disassembled and reinstalled the impellers to try and fix the problem with some tweaks but the noise persists. I think a better analogy would be to think of an unbalanced ceiling fan that starts to wobble a lot. A slight "wiggle" will cause excessive…

PRO PUMP MARINLAND; WHICH PUMP IS RIGHT FOR YOU? (updated)

Arrived well packaged, brand new in original packaging, fast shipping via Revain Prime. DIY You Tubers who marvel at what an invaluable tool they really are when it comes to aquarium maintenance. There are many things you can do and you can use these pumps. I set up two of these in a 50 gallon aquarium using a DIY setup under gravel using 3/4 PVC pipe! The effects on my fish were indirect, at first they were a bit upset with the circulation, they spent their whole life wondering how they ended…
