I HAVE BEEN USING MARINELAND PRODUCTS FOR YEARS. THE LAST TIME I BOUGHT 8 YEARS AGO. BECAUSE I TRUSTED THIS BRAND, I BUYED MAXI JETS. I installed the MJ900 in a 16 gallon BioCube. I'm happy with the performance, it's much better than the original pump. It's kind of a tight fit. You must use a short strainer (included). I had to cut about 1/2 inch from the original tank outlet tube as the new pump was slightly less powerful than the original. Then he came very close. I got a great discount so I bought three. These pumps are noisy and you can hear the impellers/propellers rumbling all the time. My guess is that this is due to the "slacker" manufacturing tolerances for the impeller for a given price; and i have disassembled and reinstalled the impellers to try and fix the problem with some tweaks but the noise persists.
