It costs money. Believe me.

I bought this 'starch alternative' on a whim from my local quilt shop but I became an instant fan. This is my third purchase and I don't regret the money. As a quilter, I iron a lot. Sometimes I struggle to lay the fabric flat, or I grumble about the process when the creases actually go away. Starch can help, but it's an uncomfortable substance that builds up on the gland. That's a different substance. I can squirt a little on the fabric, let it sit for a little and I swear the wrinkles reallyโ€ฆ

  • Good product for the price

Just what you need for quilting!

I started knitting during the pandemic. I was frustrated when my favorite starch, which I've used since college days, left burn marks on my $70 flat iron, showing all over the white fabric I used on my most recent quilting project. I decided to try this strength. Alternative after reading rave reviews on quilting blogs. I'm glad I did. I was able to safely remove burn marks on my iron with Dritz before using this starch alternative. I love this product. I have NO more burnt starch on my ironโ€ฆ

Ironing becomes a pleasure

I don't like ironing. In fact, I could probably count on the fingers of one hand how many times I've petted in any given year. However, when I recently went through my closet, I found that I have a lot of clothes that I love but just can't wear because they're too wrinkled. And since I usually rush to work in the morning, I rarely have time to iron in the morning. In some cases I've used a damp washcloth, a crumpled object, and the 5-minute "ironing" method with dye, which, as you can imagineโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for older people
