Ratchets differ between the two types, the main difference (to me) is that the Quick Gear pawl does not fully engage the ratchet. Having used these clamps for a few weeks this has not proved to be a problem in practice, although I'll have to wait and see if this translates into a durability issue. Despite the ratcheting issue, I prefer the Quick Serrated Clamps. They are quicker to use and easier to align because one of the clamping surfaces is a steel pivot plate. Stronger clamping force too…
