Lock picking in seconds

I bought my first lock picking kit with this lock and was still able to pick it in seconds. I can't stress this enough. I'm not even a novice lock picker. It was literally THE FIRST lock I've ever tried to pick with the VERY FIRST set of lockpicks and it only took a SECOND. I didn't even read the instructions that came with the picks. I just stuck it in and hoped for the best and I was STILL able to open it. This is NOT a PROTECTION from someone trying to open it.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Best Options in This Price Range

Some might say you get what you pay for and you get a small padlock that anyone can pick with minimal physical security. But as I researched further and bought locks, I found that there are often much better locks out there for the same or lower price. I just bought an Abus 72/40 on sale for about a dollar off and this lock is way ahead of the curve in terms of quality and pick resistance. In any case, cheap master locks still have a place for people who want a cheap and very basic lock…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Low Repairability

I got it to practice lock picking

Of the less secure main locks, this one is probably the best for beginners. Manufacturing tolerances appear to be better than the infamous Master Lock #3, allowing the assembler to behave predictably. It has no security pins (standard only), which is to be expected from cheaper locks. Safety pins are usually barbed or coiled and are designed to make life difficult for installers. This practically does not matter, since thieves are lazy. They don't bother to learn how to pick locks (thankfully)…

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Empty

Good choice for convenience

Pros: - Easy and quick locking/unlocking - Nice looks - Good price - Comes with 2 keys Cons: - Less secure than a combination lock as others have noted, but instead You get comfort Other thoughts: I use it for the gym. After training I was too tired to enter the combination, so it's just perfect. No one will break it open in my gym since most people use the lockers without locking them and they can see the entire gym in full. This is normal for most gyms (unless you live in a high crime area…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Suitable for home use but not in public places.

Medium small lock at a good price. Mind you, I bought this lock to practice lock picking as a non-criminal hobby - this lock is well known for being a beginner's lock to learn from. For this purpose it works fine. Although well made and durable, it should only be used in the home and not in public areas (storage rooms, apartment lockers/closets, etc.). If you lock gold bars (priceless valuables) this lock is not for you: explore and find something safer. If someone wants to steal you, they…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Tradeable
