Not like before.

I may have a lemon. Every padlock I've ever used screws the shank all the way in. This lock only rotates 20 degrees to the right and left. He doesn't even purify the body. I can't agree on anything with him. I just clamped it in a vise and rotated it more than 20 degrees with a metal rod. It works now. But I will change it soon. It still gets stuck at 20 degrees but with the open when forced. In general, it's useless. Master Lock used to be a brand I trusted.

Pros
  • Hardened steel shackle for extra cut protection
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Can open further than stays closed

This lock is a toy. Security decoration. You buy it to order Show your friends that you can open it with two paperclips. Look for videos on YouTube. Never lock anything valuable with this lock. If you want a real lock, buy an ABUS 83/45 or an American 3700. Both will do retrofit yourself with new cylinder keys, which can be identical to your home Schlage key, for example. Then your house key also opens your lock and it actually has a "secure" key slot.

Pros
  • Lock body 1-9/16 in. (40 mm) wide; 9/32" (7mm) shackle, 3/4" (19mm) long, 5/8" (16mm) wide
Cons
  • Don't remember

Suitable for protection from honest people but not thieves etc.

Let's be honest I bought this because I'm practicing, how to pick locks as I'm on my way to becoming a locksmith. Interestingly, however, I would NEVER use this lock to secure any of my items. It would be much safer for me to make a cache and bury it in the wild than stick it in something and lock it up. With a tension wrench and a rake I can get into the lock in 3-5 seconds. The lock must be a lot harder to pick than this one. You would think that the lock would have to have security pins etc…

Pros
  • 4 pin cylinder for extra tamper resistance and double ball bearing lock for maximum tamper resistance
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
