I ordered 2 of these, one for our RV and one for our beach house. None of them work and it looks like they can't be returned. We have the exact same one that we have used at home for years and love it. So we wanted 2 more for other places where we cook. I don't know what the difference is but we can't use the 2 we bought from this supplier to work.

I bought this from Woot for $18 last May and use it exclusively with a smoker. Even though it reads 10 degrees below zero, it allows me to get closer and lets me know when to start paying attention. I bought two of these and they don't sync to the bases 90% of the time. When they sync, they don't register any temperature changes at all. They are completely useless in every way. In addition, they are very cheaply made. The plastic body feels flimsy, and the base is so light and cheap you just have to twist the wire to knock it over. I love this thermometer! It's the best thing to eat after sliced bread. If like me you can't keep an eye on the grill because you're busy preparing the rest of your dinner, then this is the device for you. I've had mine for over two years now and use it at least weekly. I like rarer meats a little more, so I usually take the meat off the grill as soon as the device says the meal is almost ready.
