I bought this from Woot for $18 last May and use it exclusively with a smoker. Even though it reads 10 degrees below zero, it allows me to get closer and lets me know when to start paying attention. Her "food is almost ready" chant in the early hours of competition is a bit annoying and I wish it could be replaced with a note. It serves a purpose, but I wouldn't trust it alone.
