Solid bike rack at Bike Racks

Ignore the negative reviews about the rack being "too wobbly", it's just user error. This thing is pretty solid when properly assembled and secured. Look at my video and you will see. It is easy to assemble and install. Make sure you have the right tools and the rest will take care of itself.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • slightly torn

It works with some hesitation!

The price couldn't be better! The post is wobbly but I don't think it's a big problem as I've ridden it a few times and haven't had any damage or anything like that so far. Also no noise. But what worries me the most are the belts. I have a feeling that if I don't tighten the straps twice (just had to make sure it worked) they might come loose. So make sure it's secured!

Not fancy (or expensive), but a great bike rack.

For the price, you can't beat this shelf. I needed something to carry some bikes to the beach. I'm still amazed at how stable it is (just tighten everything until you're happy with the stability). Reliable stand. I like the sloped access to my sunroof. Gladly mediocre rating, more expensive racks weren't available when I needed them.

Great little bike rack

I love this bike rack - it's relatively light but strong and very easy to attach to my car's hitch. The bike rack attaches and detaches easily, holds the bikes with minimal sway when moving and I love the fold down feature which allows me to access the back of my car (I've used this rack with VW). Passat Wagon and Subaru Crosstrek). This strut replaced a hitch mounted strut with support beams at the bottom of the strut which was much more difficult to lift and install and had to be removed to…

Decent unit; POOR customer service

This is a decently built unit even though it's made in China. BUT the included bolt that attaches it to my truck's hitch is barely enough for a 4"x4" hitch (which I assume is sort of standard, not 2x2?). I contacted co. about that; They said they would sort it out and that was the last I heard from them. So don't expect much if my experience is typical (i.e. you're on your own). A longer screw (3.5-4 inches) of the same diameter will do; Take one of the same diameter and thread it along the…

Potentially dangerous design flaw!

Very dangerous article! Note that the end caps are poorly constructed. They are incorrectly and bizarrely attached with metal screws(?). They can come off EASILY. If they come loose, it means your bikes will slip and fall in the middle of the road! I was so lucky that when I was pulling out this product to collect it, I accidentally dropped it on the floor and the cap fell off immediately. If I hadn't dropped it I would never have found out about the problem. However, I replaced the end cap and

Maybe higher. EDIT: User error!

I am using this with an SUV that has a fairly high ground clearance (Nissan Xterra). The receiver on it is likely at least 15 to 18 inches off the ground. Even at this height, the bikes ride horribly low on this rack. I have a 26" bike and it clears the road about 7" but I was towing my 29" bike and we had to remove the front wheel to make room. annoys. The stand is solidly built, easy to set up and otherwise works well. If you have a hitch stand, you can hit the ground running with this stand.

Everything you need to know.

I'm happy and satisfied, but I'll tell you what to consider when buying. The fairing around the post was indented from the other parts opposite in the box. Since it is foam I would expect it to swell up again over time. Simple packaging tweaks can prevent this, but they don't affect the performance of the product in any way. Due to the fact that it doesn't inflate, you can consider that in the aesthetics section. An image attempting to capture this is attached. If your bike doesn't have a…
