Good calipers, storage bag designed by an idiot.

Unlike my old set these are designed so that the inner socket just doesn't fall out which is great. The numbers are a bit sketchy (see price), but the plastic case is tight and completely unusable. It's a shame because I carry it in my pocket every day and the sleeve protects me from sharp spots. Next time a manufacturer needs to find an engineering job for an incompetent engineer, ask that person to design a Prop 65 label.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of style

Low quality best for testing, measuring and checking

Do not include information about Groz tools in the product description. This caliper is made in India as cheaply as possible. The plastic bag is so small that it rips the first time you pull the caliper out. I suspect the brass feels nice to the touch, but the inch scale is difficult to read and doesn't slide smoothly. Twenty years ago I bought some calipers on sale at Tractor Supply for a few bucks and they are way better than these. I'll leave it, but $3 would be a much more reasonable price…

Pros
  • Wow

Good enough, could be better

I bought two of these to give one to my father-in-law. They arrived exactly as described. The plastic sleeve was the same as others have mentioned: very tight and if you are not careful you will tear the plastic. It's best to place the larger part of the caliper on top and just tuck the thin part in. They are great little tools for that. But they should be a little better out of the box. Both calipers slipped roughly. The first set was very hard. The machine marks on the slide were very…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
