I bought these to re-tape any edges that had fallen off our California cabinets (was installed by the previous owner so their 'lifetime guarantee' was useless). How do you glue something to the edge of a board? Masking tape was my best bet, but it only works reliably 50% of the time. There is no way to emphasize the connection. These clips have rubber bands (?) that stretch slightly. In addition, the pads are perfectly smooth so as not to damage the target.
