I like to use step drill bits to drill holes in our van we are remodeling. You can get into hard-to-reach places and use a drill to drill the right size. And if it's a short one, at least don't drill outside! But they will NOT drill through stainless steel, even the first size/pitch.

I have used step drills for decades because they are so handy for working with sheet metal. The one I used was late in life so I took this one. There's a lot to choose from (I only had one bit originally) and the carrying case is quite nice. They're great for sheet metal and gutters and cut great. With a wide range to choose from, it's almost all you need. Some of them also make great wooden countertops. A great addition to any tool bag.

They appear to be well made and with the thin steel I used they worked well. Interesting box of bits. The box is fragile. The largest piece doesn't fit in well, so when closing the case you tend to push on the top and bottom to close it completely. This pressure pulls the sides of the fuselage away from the fuselage frame. It looks like it was just glued on. The side doesn't separate, but now it's definitely dangling and making noise. The case keeps things tidy though, so be careful with it…
